[Background]

http://batman.wikia.com/wiki/League_of_Shadows Excommunicated from them, but he was trained by them and follows Talia al Ghul.

[Personality]
Fear is a word people associate with Bane. Fear is not something that would describe how he feels so much as how other people feel about him once they now who he is and what he is ultimately capable of. He exudes an air of complete confidence and an inability to become deterred by the words of others. He speaks in such a way that conveys just how sure of himself he is and that intimidation is a waste of time on him. When he has a plan in mind, he will execute it the way that he planned it to go because he already had it worked out. Factoring in problems seems to come naturally to him. Wrenches getting thrown into his plans is not an option. They are almost welcomed just to be throw into the faces of those that believe they have him right where they want him.

He knows how strong he is and flaunts this with an air of arrogance. The fight he had with Batman alone before he put the man into that pit is a solid illustration of that. He is even making a speech as Bruce Wayne loses spectacularly to him. His mannerisms point to this macho-ism and this fantastic ego. There is nothing here that shows us hesitation on his part. There is nothing he does to show that he would be losing any form of confidence whatsoever. Physical violence is a direct extension of who he is and is as natural to him as breathing in everybody else. It is the primary way he is able to exude the arrogance that others are afraid of. It is what keeps him being able to control what needs to be controlled along with the mentality of the League of Shadows.

His arrogance is founded though. He did build himself up into the bulk of a man that he is after suffering what he did though he will always be twisted by what the doctors did to him in that pit with their botched surgery. He must have endured a great deal of pain before the mask and the pain medication gas was created to go over his face to greatly reduce that agony. He is very disciplined, but he is also very dangerous and he knows this quite well. He does not have to go through only his physical brutality to harm somebody. As intelligent and cunning as he can be, he is fueled by the knowledge of what he has and will deduce the right way to tear somebody down. If a bunch of henchmen can be genuinely afraid of him then he must be doing something right.

That arrogance and ability to instill fear keeps those that work for him in line and even willing to die if their death is required. That is what makes him as feared as he is by law enforcement and others. He can send in anybody he wants that is working with him and they will willingly lay down their lives for a purpose. He is very assured of this. Any person that ended up doing something against what he would have wanted or made a mistake, he ended up killing them without a second thought. They, of course, are more than willing to allow him to kill them for what they did without question. He is not afraid of people screaming in his face and remains surprisingly calm.

It is not just physical violence that makes him arrogant. He would have to be intelligent to pull off what he does aside from being informed by Talia. Being one step ahead no matter what the knowledge could not be achieved without figuring out things and mentally being able to figure out what is to come. When he speaks, people look at him as if they can hardly believe how he came up with what he did. No amount of confidence in another nor bravado will give him a lapse in judgement save for much later when everything comes crumbling down as he chose to assume would not be the case in regards to Batman crawling out of the pit and being able to subdue him at all.

He shows absolutely no emotion when he kills somebody. He is shown killing people through breaking their necks, suffocation, and shooting. All of these are shown and he does not flinch or bat an eyelash at any of it. This would be a connection with the League of Shadows and the notion that one's life is completely expendable for their cause. As mentioned, people willingly give up their lives if asked/demanded to do so. Though it is mostly what the League is all about, it can still also be connected to Bane's ability to speak with purpose and commanding of fear in others. The only true emotion he showed beyond his purpose as a mercenary and under Talia's command was when she was revealing his backstory and how Bane had been her protector. His persona returns when she tells him goodbye and before he is ultimately killed by Selina.

If he has a fear of anything, his most apparently is being troubled when Batman later dislodges a few things on his mask. Without that mask, the pain will be unimaginable and will likely kill him outright when it comes to full-blown agony. In the film, it does not get to the point where it shows him under the influence of the kind of pain that would be expected, but it is obvious that he is not looking forward to it and is literally desperate to not have to go through that. It does not stop him from swinging and taking out chunks of a pillar, but his attention is obviously elsewhere by that point and Batman is ultimately able to subdue him to try and get the answers he wants from him. With that subjugation, Bane does give the other the information he was looking for without conflict.

The way he speaks gives off not only an arrogance, but an amusement as well. When he is not giving solid confident speeches, he has an eccentric mannerism of speaking as if nothing will be able to effect him beyond pure enjoyment on some level. With that air of amusement and unwavering confident arrogance, he comes across as a disturbing figure that others likely see as unbeatable. It is almost a childish way of putting another down for not having figured out what he planned on doing. It is his way of reveling in his own intelligence and simultaneously of the idiocies of those that truly believe they can stop him and others working towards this same goal.

He does hold a surprising bit of respect and a desire to protect Talia before she escaped the pit and even after Batman is more or less interrogating him before the reveal of who Talia is in relation to Ra's al Ghul. He even sheds a tear as the woman is describing what they had to endure inside of that pit, what Bane endured with the League of Shadows including being excommunicated, and ultimately that his crime was loving her. Whether or not this love is something beyond a very close friendship or more is difficult to say. It is obvious though that he cares a great deal for her still and that had never changed. He even stayed behind with Batman when Talia gave him her final farewell, sealing that he was prepared to die for her and for the plans she had for the city. It is when she is describing what happened in the pit when Bane was protecting her and all about her past and his that he has a genuine tear or two fall from his eyes. That is literally the only time he conveys emotion. It passes when a few moments after she tells him goodbye.

He believes in what the League of Shadows was all about and following what Ra's al Ghul planned on doing with Gotham even though he was excommunicated by him and became a ruthless mercenary. He was the one that directed those beneath himself and Talia to place all of those explosives that entrapped the city. He proudly announces to Batman/Bruce what the plans are in so many words before he breaks him in the sewers and tosses him into the pit. In a way, this could be construed as having a great deal of respect for what al Ghul had plans for. He is doing this by proxy through Talia who wanted to follow in her father's footsteps. Everybody in the League of Shadows is willing to die for their cause and so it is easy to lead them based on their unwavering loyalty. He is just as willing to die in the middle of destroying Gotham and accepts it in the end though he never did get to that point in his canon point.

Finally, he has a way of speaking almost like a dictator that seems to both captivate and horrify all in the same instance. This ties into his ability to instill fear and allows the plan to be able to be executed. His words are his character and convey his inability to be swayed with words or actions that are against his beliefs or his intentions. He kills without remorse when others show a bravado. He chooses to break them no matter what when they become useless to him. He is basically showing that no amount of bravery or resistance will matter and that all of that is in vain. Continuously he proves this by doing as he pleases. Nobody that stands up to him is left standing(until all those plans start going to hell near the end of the movie). He could be considered fairly eccentric with the way he speaks that generally makes people as uncomfortable as they would be if he was verbally chastising them.

Basically it comes down to this: If you are useless to him, his cause, and anything else, he is going to kill you. He will hold onto you as long as you are useful then dispose of you quickly and efficiently. He does not experience emotion over this and executes other people as if it was his job to do this. He is very intelligent and not just some muscular idiot. He proves this numerous times. Any displays of rebellion or something that is supposed to intimidate or make him afraid is met with a cold glance and instant death or, in some cases, humiliating them in some way. Trying to get to him emotionally is a waste of time as is attempting to physically beat him. He will gladly break you for whatever reason he feels like. Unless you happen to be Talia or somebody that was on his side from his world that is more than a normal henchman then you are expendable.

He will break you slowly or rapidly because he can. He will find your weakness and exploit it, so that you feel vulnerable and you are in despair when he finally kills you. He has his idles, but he will be stuck in a city that takes him away from his ultimate plans. With nobody around save for who he knows from his world, he will not hold anything back. Without plans, he had no limits. Either way, he will always be dangerous.

[Abilities]

http://batman.wikia.com/wiki/League_of_Shadows
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bane_%28comics%29#Powers_and_abilities - The majority of this I would say applies to him(though anything pertaining to history should be aligned with Nolanverse canon. Abilities are also listed at the top right of this page beneath the comic!Bane picture.

Unlike his counterpart in the comics, he does not use venom of any kind to make him stronger. He just pretty much has near super human abilities based on different forms of exercise alone.

[Other important stuff] His only issue is going to be his dependence on somebody making sure that he has pain medication fed into his mask, so he does not die from sheer pain. Likely this will mean he will have to agree to do something for somebody to get this in exchange. There will probably be a time when he acquires NPCs to work for him, but that will take time and he is likely going to follow somebody else for a while in his own way.

[Sample post]
[First Person]

[This is definitely not the place Bane was expecting to end up at when dropped Bruce Wayne into that hole. This is far from that. There is obviously an explanation. How else is this possible? There is not an ounce of fear or any such thing when he finally speaks.]

And who should I be speaking with that decided to change the game up? I think you are going to find this to be a very bad idea.

[His words are almost amused. Yes this man is making a threat and he is not afraid to show himself on the screen.]

Come on. Don't be shy. I can't promise you will not suffer something for what you have done, but the severity will be lessened with honesty. That is all I can promise you.

[He stands there a moment with the device in hand before nodding his head a few times and chuckling. His words are more eccentric than shouting and are expressed firmly and matter-of-factly. It gives off the impression that, while almost uncaring in tone, he will do something violent in return for an answer he dislikes.]

I was in the middle of a very important mission...really...it was the climax of it! The best parts were to come! I really hate to miss any details! When people have plans, they tend to want to see them to their completion.

[He cracks his knuckles and tilts his head back and forth with an audible sharp pop.]

Now...step on up and we will see how generous I can end up being. I would rather not have to imagine the fire and witness it for myself.

[Third Person]

So this place was not something he could escape. Bane could be irritated over all of this or he could see it as yet another pit of darkness. Trying to find the light at the end of the tunnel so to speak was the only real option he had. Allowing himself to lose his cool over something that had to be simple would be a foolish move. He was not here to display weaknesses. On the contrary. If he was going to convey anything, it would be that he was not going to be a mindless idiot that would allow emotions to win them over and end up making a mistake that would cost him more than simply his way back. He would not have been in the position he had been in before if he had become a slave to emotions and the inability to know what needed to be said and done with minimal instruction.

As he appeared to be in a position of making many of his own decisions, he would attempt to play this in exactly the direction he needed it to go in. There was a problem though. This might be a so-called dream world as it was referred to, but he still required the necessary supplies to keep himself from becoming incapacitated with pain. Agony would not allow him to think the way that he needed to think thus he would be unable to return. Oh the idea of not being able to see Gotham City get what it deserved, all of those beautifully executed plans going through, was really starting to dampen his mood. It was a good thing that nobody was here for him to let him release his frustrations on.

Or perhaps that was exactly what he needed.

"To think that I could be feeling better right now by breaking somebody...pity."

There was not even a punching bag in this room. That did not seem all that accommodating. If he needed a little recreational deviation then he would find that for himself. There were apparently plenty of people here that would be excellent targets to relieve stress on. There again though he needed to be careful. Without his henchmen here that he spent such a painstakingly long time grooming, he would have to find that all by his own means once more. What he had before was different. He was not above a challenge though. He never was. Having conquered fear, nothing placed before him would be anything at all besides an obstacle. Nothing ever should be more than that or he would deserve being caught off-guard.

Maybe he was going to have to go break somebody for answers right now. At least that would put him in good spirits temporarily.

[Why do you want to play this character in Somarium?] I like the people playing from the Nolanverse cast and Bane is a challenging character. Since I put a semi-villain in earlier and one can never have too many villains, here we go.
[Which rule was your favorite and why?] I am always a fan of anti-godmodding/meta-gaming rules because I hate it when people do that.
[Where did you hear about Somarium?] Been here for a while :V
[Any questions?] Nothing actually comes to mind
